William Lese Named to Top 100 People in Bioenergy

Managing Partner of Braemar Energy Ventures Included in BioFuels Digest Annual List of Biofuel Visionaries

NEW YORK, New York (November 11, 2010) — Braemar Energy Ventures, a venture capital fund making early- to mid-stage investments in the energy technology sector, is pleased to announce that William Lese, managing partner, has been named as one of The Top 100 People in Bioenergy, by BioFuels Digest in its October 2010 issue.

The trade publication's two-week voting period attracted more than 15,000 votes from its readers, with over 400 individuals receiving votes. In the issue, Mr. Lese was lauded for being "a veteran VC with 20+ years in the energy and environmental businesses." The article also referred to Braemar Energy Ventures, the firm Mr. Lese co-founded, as "an investor in a wide range of the hottest companies in bioenergy."

Also making the top 10 of the list were the leadership teams of two of Braemar's investments: Vincent Chornet and Esteban Chornet of Enerkem, and Jonathan Wolfson and Harrison Dillon of Solazyme.

Mr. Lese has more than 27 years of research, operating and venture capital experience in energy and environmental businesses. He serves on the Advisory Committee of the New York City Accelerator for a Clean and Renewable Economy (NYC ACRE) and as a member of the Natural Resources Defense Council's Center for Market Innovation Advisory Council. Mr. Lese currently serves on the board of directors of Coaltek, Utility Associates, Ciris Energy, OPX Biotechnologies, Solazyme, Ioxus, CRB, General Fusion and is chairman of the board of Solicore. He also serves as a board observer for Stion, Enerkem and Proterro. He has both a B.A. in physics and an M.S. in energy science from New York University.
